Presenter? Fan? Formula 1 Driver? F1 podcasts have sky-rocketed in recent years with presenters and fans alike able to dissect the current conversations and gain a deeper insight into the sport. So much so even the drivers are becoming hosts (I’m looking at you Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda). So if you're new to F1 or just looking for another way to fill the time in between races, here is Off Track Digital’s top 5 Formula 1 podcasts.

1. Looking where to start? F1 Nation

F1's very own podcast series, F1 Nation, focuses on the race weekends at hand. Uploaded weekly, the F1 Nation podcast both previews and reviews the latest race to make sure you stay across all the most recent talking points. Hosted by Tom Clarkson, Natalie Pinkham, and Damon Hill, this podcast highlights the need-to-know conversations across the race weekend with exclusive interviews from drivers, team principles and most-importantly Checo's dad. So if you're new to Formula 1 and wondering where to start, give the F1 Nation podcast a go.

2. Looking for honesty? F1: Beyond The Grid

Beyond The Grid, another F1-owned podcast, features exclusive interviews with the most prominent figures in Formula 1. Hosted by Tom Clarkson, this series offers an exclusive insight into the personal stories behind some of F1's biggest names. Whilst many F1 podcasts aim to break down the on track action, Beyond The Grid digs into the human challenges of the biggest motorsport series and its stars. Episodes include Charles Leclerc’s experience of heart-breaking loss, Sebastian Vettel’s environmental endeavours and Lewis Hamilton’s retirement plans. Few podcasts offer depth to motorsport like Beyond the Grid.

3. Looking for a laugh? The Pad-Hoc

The Pad-Hoc is hosted by three friends, Lawrence Barretto, Chris Medland, and Nate Saunders, who discuss almost everything but the latest race results. The F1 journalist's instead opt for some questionable jokes and off-topic discussions that make you feel like you're catching up with your mates. Whilst The Pad-Hoc is is perhaps less technical, the light-hearted conversations amongst friends and exclusive stories from the paddock are a welcome addition to the plethora of F1 podcasts. The Pad-Hoc is the podcast to listen to if you're looking for a laugh in amongst the latest on-track drama.

4. Looking for community? Going Purple with Lissie Mackintosh

Going Purple with Lissie Mackintosh aims to break down those wider topics in Formula 1, steering away from the usual race weekend coverage to discuss the wider world of motorsports. Featuring topics such as the ever-growing esports, F1 content creators and her experiences as a woman working in motorsport, Lissie's well-informed opinions and light-hearted approach enables her to dissect the 'serious F1 stuff in a not so serious way'. So for anyone interested in finding a community in motorsport, Going Purple with Lissie Mackintosh is the perfect podcast for you.

5. Looking For Something New? The Fast And The Curious

The Fast And The Curious is a new podcast hosted by Christian Hewgill, Betty Glover and their team principal (and Radio 1 breakfast presenter) Greg James. The first episode landed at the end of February with Jenson Button, Logan Sargeant and Esteban Ocon all featuring, to name a few. Christian leads the podcast with an infectious passion for his favourite sport, as trio break down the complexities of F1 and demystifying the sport for those newcomers to the sport. So if you’re looking for something new, try The Fast And The Curious.
